Real Estate Tax Appeals

Picture
In Illinois, when the assessed values on your home or other property are high, you have the right to appeal the assessed value to the Board of Review. Should you be unsuccessful in the Board of Review, you can appeal to the Property Tax Appeal Board (PTAB).

We have developed a significant amount of experience in representing owners of low-income housing complexes in reviewing and prosecuting tax appeals.  Some of these complexes have special real estate taxation rules that allow for a different type of valuation than a regular commercial complex.

JBN's attorneys are experienced in this area and have been successful in negotiation of assessments at the Board of Review level and prosecution of cases in the PTAB.
